-198- They had a son, Brian Lee Freeman, who was born and died on July 27, 1987 in Las Vegas Sunrise Humana Hospital. Subsequently, Roger and Cindy adopted two girls: (1) Amber Suzanne who was born on September 20, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (2) Heather Ann Freeman, who was born on March 31, 1993 in Union Medical Center, Las Vegas, and joined Roger, Cindy, and Amber at home on April 5, 1993. Bob and Donna's second child, a girl: Deborah Renee, was born in Chicago on June 16, 1956, but was born deaf unfortunately, as was her husband Richard Eugene Buterbaugh. They were married in the Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas on June 18, 1978. Their divorce took place in November 1987, and Debbie had her Freeman name restored legally. Debbie and Richard had three children: (1) Ronald John Buterbaugh, also born deaf, was born on January 13, 1980 in St Margaret's Hospital in Hammond, Indiana; (2) Melissa Sue Buterbaugh, who was born on March 4, 1983 in the same hospital and city; and (3) James Roy Freeman, who was born on August 8, 1988 in St. Catherine Hospital in Hammond, Indiana. A second daughter, was born to Bob and Donna: Donalee Beth Freeman. Her birth took place on October 15, 1957 in Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago. Donalee has been married twice now. Her first marriage was to George William Loacker, Jr on April 8, 1978 at St Monica's Church, and this marriage continued until a divorce on March 16, 1978 in Las Vegas. No children arose out of this marriage. A second marriage took place on June 5, 1982 to Jeffrey William Matview, the father of her two children. He died on July 10, 1988 in Streamwood, Illinois. Their children are: (1) Steven Jeffrey Matview, born January 14, 1983 at the Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois; and (2) Kelly Anne Matview, who was born on October 13, 1985 at the Humana Hospital in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Bob and Donna and their three children lived in Chicago on N Meade Avenue until Bob's forced retirement from the Chicago Fire Department-a medical retirement. They then moved to Boulder City, Nevada, a very small community. In fact, when first wife, Helen, and I visited them it took less than ten minutes to see most of the city! Bob was active as a volunteer in the fire department there, and built a major collection of fire memorabilia there. But he was very unhappy with the lack of fire activity, being used to that of the magnitude of Chicago's. So he told Donna he was moving to New York with or without her. She chose to accompany him, and they moved to Staten Island, New York, where they lived until she went to visit the children in Las Vegas. She then called Bob and told him she was not returning to Staten Island. A divorce took place on August 7, 1987. |
